Welcome to Berkshire Township, Delaware County, Ohio
The old barn which stood on the Township property when it was purchased was cost prohibitive to restore. It was taken down by Finish Line Building, and we are happy to report that much of the old wood and timber will be used in homes constructed by the builder. A Hilliard family came to see the barn before demolition began and was thrilled to learn of the history they will be inheriting in their new residence. The silo will remain, in hopes of becoming a Berkshire "landmark" as we develop our land in the future. Have an idea or wish list for our beautiful Rome Corners property? Share it with us!
Amidst fun, fanfare, fireworks (and yes, a LOT of traffic!) the newest Tanger Outlet Mall opened on June 24th 2016 in our township. Located at I-71 at the 36-37 exit, the mall features over 75 retailers with more to come. A "soft opening" was held Thursday evening with the Grand Opening Event on Friday morning. Township Trustee, Bill Holtry spoke, as did Congressman Pat Tiberi and other local officials and representatives from the Simon and the Tanger companies. There were stilt walkers, jugglers, The Ohio State University Marching Band, Marvel Superheroes and lots of great bargains, not to mention Jonathan and Drew Scott, the Property Brothers from HGTV on hand to kick off the festivities.
